Support the future of Academic Librarianship!

We invite you to invest in the future leaders of the profession as they seek to gain the experience, knowledge, and connections needed to advance learning and transform scholarship in the 21st century.

ACRL is able to award scholarships to the academic and research library community to attend the ACRL Virtual Conference thanks to donors like you. ACRL is strongly dedicated to equity, diversity, and inclusion. The Scholarships Committee gives preference to applicants who are from diverse cultural/ethnic backgrounds, serve under-represented groups, and have not previously been awarded an ACRL scholarship.

“It was refreshing to be among colleagues from all over the country at the ACRL 2019 conference. I enjoyed the workshops that inspired me to bring new ideas into the classroom and to discuss the challenges and highlights of working as a librarian in a higher education institution. I would not have had that opportunity if it weren’t for the scholarship. I consider these conferences to be essential for my professional growth and I am grateful to have the professional and financial support from ACRL and ALA. A very BIG thanks to the donors for providing me the opportunity and for providing future opportunities for others.”

TaChalla Ferris, ACRL 2019 Conference Scholarship Recipient

Information Literacy Librarian, Shoreline Community College

“The ACRL Early-Career Scholarship enabled me to attend my first (but definitely not last!) ACRL Conference in 2019. As a community college librarian, I don’t often have the time to conduct professional research and test out new programs, so I was delighted to gain so much knowledge and inspiration from my fellow academic librarians; much of which I was able to easily translate into my every day work. The conference also provided me a unique opportunity to meet with other academic librarians from around the country. I am continually grateful to the generous ACRL Scholarship donors because without their contributions, attending such an essential conference would have been nearly impossible. Thank you!”

Rita Suarez, ACRL 2019 Conference Scholarship Recipient

Instruction & Outreach Librarian, East Los Angeles College
